Biography: 

Clarisse is currently a PhD candidate in Geo-Informatics at the University of Twente, ITC Faculty. In 2009, she obtained a Master of Science degree in Geo-Informatics from ITC, The Netherlands. In 2006, she graduated with BSc (Hon) degree in Computer Science from the former National University of Rwanda (NUR).

Clarisse started working at CGIS-UR in 2006 as a Web mapping Officer / Tutorial assistant. In 2009 she was promoted  to Research Assistant. At CGIS-UR, she is involved in developing and delivering short courses on “GIS”, “Remote Sensing”, “Database Management Systems”, Spatial databases and “Web Mapping”. She is also involved in teaching the Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Applied Geo-Information Science and Computer Science department at the University of Rwanda. With her expertise in the fields of spatial databases, web programming and web GIS, she has been involved in several web mapping and web application development projects. Before joining the CGIS-UR, Clarisse worked for the former National University of Rwanda as the Head of the IT Department in the Registrar Office.
