I have 16 years of experience in Geography and related fields. Since 1st July 2010, I am a Senior Lecturer of Geographical and Environmental Sciences in the Department of Geography, School of Science, College of Science and Technology, and since 9th August 2011 up to now, Director of the Centre for Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing (CGIS) of University of Rwanda (UR). I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical and Human Geography from the former National University of Rwanda (1995–1999), a Master’s Degree in Geography and Planning from Michel Montaigne Bordeaux III University - France (2001-2002), and a PhD Degree in Geography and Planning from Pau University - France (2004–2009). My main research interests are Environment and Natural Resources Management, Effects of Climate Change and Variability on Agricultural Production and Food Security, GIS and its applications. My current research project is on "The Effects of Climate Change and Variability on Wetland Agricultural Production and Food Security in Rwanda", fully funded by University of Rwanda - Sweden Programme for Research, Higher Education and Institutional Advancement. In addition to my mother tongue (Kinyarwanda), I speak and write English and French. Moreover, I have sufficient computer literacy particularly in Microsoft Programs including Word, Excel and Power point as well as professional software such as SPSS, ArcGIS and ERDAS Imagine.
