Vacancy Announcement - Position of Field Assistant

The UR-Sweden Programme for Research, Higher Education and Institutional Advancement/GIS Subprogramme would like to recruit a qualified staff under contract on position of "Field Assistant" to assist a PhD student in Geobiosphere Science at Lund University – Sweden.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Field Assistant:

  • Assisting the PhD candidate in data collection on soil solution, stream water, soil samples;
  • Supervising all field activities according to the planned sampling plan in the absence of the PhD student;
  • Analyzing in the laboratory all collected samples;
  • Submitting all laboratory results and measurements to the PhD candidate in the proposed format;

The requirements for the above position are as follows:

  • Should be a Rwandan
  • Should have a least a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Biology;
  • Should have an experience at least of three years in water and soil laboratory analyses;
  • Should be familiar with electronic field equipment;
  • Should demonstrate a great interest in field and laboratory work;

 

An application letter accompanied by an updated CV, a copy of the bachelor’s degree and other documents related to his/her experience should be submitted in the Directorate of the Centre for Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing (CGIS)
