The Vision of the CGIS is to serve as a national and regional teaching and research outreach centre of excellence in the fields of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS).

Mission:

The Mission of the CGIS is to promote teaching, research, consultancy and community service in GIS and Remote Sensing to address issues related to Environment and Natural Resources Management, Disaster Risk Management, Urban and Regional Planning towards economic transformation and sustainable development at national and regional levels.
